Series X3 - NSW
Round 4
Round 4 of Series X3 NSW all done and dusted
It wasn’t the best day of racing, with an incident in Race 1 and a few safety cars putting Matthew on the back foot.
Race 1:
Matt qualified P11, which wasn’t too bad. Unfortunately, he had a slow start and lost a few positions before a safety car was deployed. After the restart, Matt began making up ground, but another car made a mistake on the inside at Turn 1, pushing him into the outside wall. Sadly, this resulted in a DNF. Thankfully, the damage to the car was only minor.
Race 2:
Due to the DNF in Race 1, Matt started from the back in P18. He kept it clean and managed to climb up to P12. Unfortunately, a safety car late in the race brought it to an early end.
Race 3:
With the progressive grid, Matt started P12 for the final race. He quickly broke into the top 10 before another safety car came out. The race was shortened again, and Matt finished P10.
Overall, it wasn’t our strongest round, but Matt made solid progress with the car, which is a big positive. He’s continuing to learn and improve every time he hits the track.
Massive thanks to Matt’s sponsors: 313 Automotive, MediSleep, and new sponsor AYE Tech. A big thank you as well to everyone at the NSW X3 Club and MRA for another great day of racing.
Next up:
Round 5 at Sydney Motorsport Park on July 20th – the State of Origin round with Series X3 QLD. It should be an awesome day of racing, and we hope to see you there!
