Series X3 NSW - 2026
Round 3
Round 3 of the 2026 Series X3 NSW Championship is done, for what was Matts best weekend of the year so far. After coming off what was a good weekend at Bathurst, Matt was ready to get his NSW championship back on track and move forward in the championship.
Race 1:
The weekend started off a bit on the back foot with Matt qualifying in P11. Matt felt he could have been a lot further up the field but was ready to make it up in the races. The race started off strong with Matt moving to P5 by lap 2. After battling with a few others, Matt would finish race 1 in P7, a good result to start the day.
Race 2:
Matt started race 2 out of P7 making a decent getaway staying in P7 for the opening lap. Unfortunately the race didn't quite go how Matt wanted, having good battles the whole race but unfortunately crossing the line in P10. Matt felt he could have been further up but was ready to have a go in race 3.
Race 3:
After tuning the car up between race 2 and 3, Matt started out of P10 making an alright start and holding in P11. Matt made good progress through the race and had some good pace moving forward as the race went on. An incident in front opened the door for Matt to take P6 at the end of race 3.
Overall, the weekend was good for Matt, making gains with not only the car but himself. Matt was able to bank some good championship points to set him up for the rest of the year. Now the goal is to try get some more power out of the motor ready for the last half of the sprint championship and hopefully get onto the podium. A huge thank you goes to Matt’s sponsors for their continued support: 313 Automotive, MediSleep, AYE Tech, Pro Detailing Sydney, VMedical and HT Motorsport. Special thanks as well to Series X3 NSW and MRA for a fantastic race meeting.
Next Up:
In just over a weeks time Matt is back at Sydney Motorsport Park for the Jeremy Hodges Memorial Enduro apart of the Sydney 300. Matt is ready to take on the two one hour enduro races and hopefully come away with some strong results. As well as this, both races will be streamed live and free on Blendline TV and race 2 will be under lights! Can't wait and see you all there!
